last night, anthony and i drove to the chabot space and science center. i can't believe i had never been there before considering i live just a few miles away. they've got a planetarium, numerous telescopes, and interactive exhibits.

i've always wanted to check out a planetarium. i've only seen them on TV and have always had romantic ideas about them. the planetarium is a full dome digital projection system with iage and sound almost all around you. there are numerous shows throughout the day with topics ranging from space exploration to deep sea exploration. we caught the last show and it was quite dissapointing. instead of something educational like all the other shows, we watched the program PERFECT for those on ecstasy or shrooms. if that is your fancy, i HIGHLY recommend this show. since we weren't, it was quite boring. it was like watching a really, really fancy windows media player radomization on a kick ass screen, with kick ass effects. i refuse to accept any other explanation for this show other than: drugs. oh, and to give moby something to do. it's the last show, playing late on saturday nights. drugs!

on the other hand, the interactive exhibits were pretty fun. but the best part? looking through one of their telescopes to view the adromeda galaxy, 2.5 million lightyears away.

As Congress recognized, "ine Internet is simply another method for making information available in a school of library." S. Rep. No. 106-141, p 7 (1999). It is "no more than a technological extension of the book stack."

it's amazing how out of tune Congress can be when it comes to technology. Granted, it was in 1997 when hte internet wasn't *that* well developed, but comparing the Internet to a stack of books?!

(obviously, the internet is a series of tubes!)

wtf
i've been laptop-less since friday and it is so frustrating. i can't get anything done....i hate using my desktop. the keyboard makes for difficult typing, and the desk where my desktop is at is uncomfotable and makes it hard to spread out my books/notes for studying. even worse, my desktop is located down in the sun room area where my parents find it necessary to talk quite loudly.

...and my fucking allergies are driving me crazy.

RAWR!!!!!!!

On his September 19 radio show, [Bill] O'Reilly said he took civil rights leader Al Sharpton to the Lenox Avenue fixture and "couldn't get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia's Restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City."

"I mean, it was exactly the same, even though it's run by blacks, primarily black patronship," he told listeners. "It was the same, and that's really what this society's all about now here in the U.S.A. There's no difference."

And later, speaking with National Public Radio correspondent and Fox analyst Juan Williams, O'Reilly said there "wasn't any kind of craziness at all" during his dinner with Sharpton: "There wasn't one person in Sylvia's who was screaming, 'M.F.-er, I want more iced tea.' "

"It was like going into an Italian restaurant in an all-white suburb in the sense that people were sitting there and they were ordering and just having fun," he continued.

hahaha, "m.f.-er, i want more iced tea!!"

he also reports that everyone in sylvia's was also well dressed, and there was no rap music :)

- jen is slowly learning to be disciplined in her studies again. however, she has not fully adjusted.

- jen lost her starbucks card. there was still over $50 left on it  :(

- jen needs a secretary/assistant.

i'm sick --day 2

better, but still very sick. at least today i don't feel like i'm dying (like yesterday). not only that, but i can perform normal functions at an average speed.

yesterday, i barely had energy to talk. and walking down stairs was so painful. not only was i super achy because i was sick, but i my muscles were already sore. after consuming a ridiculous amount of liquids yesterday, causing me to pee every 30 minutes, i am a lot better. i actually was able to leave the house, walk up the block to mail my netflix! of course, i broke a huge sweat doing it.

i want a cupcake. i'm going to ask james to go with me.

would just like to make a business plug...

the mac "fix it" guy at valley fair. his stand is called "1-800 Mac Fix" or something like that. currently, he's in front of the sushi place near men's macy's, but he's trying to wait for a space to open up closer to the apple store.

my ipod had a busted part (the actual hardware on the casing itself --no software issues). i've dropped it numerous times and the something inside had moved so i couldn't plug it into my computer anymore. but everything else worked fine. i took it to the mac store at valley fair. i made my appointment at the genius bar. 45 minutes later (my appointment time), they told me they don't even have parts like that anymore and they couldn't fix something like that. the guy was nice enough to recommend a mac "fix it" guy near the store.

i took it there, the guy tried to plug it in, didn't work. popped it open and within 2 minutes, he's like, "you're missing screw! i'll just fix it for you, no charge." and he surely did fix it, no charge. the whole process took about 5-6 minutes. awesome.

he does mostly hardware repair (broken screens, cracks, etc) and i think some software repair. aside from buying a new ipod, if you want to try to fix it, get a (free) quote from him and the apple store...he'll likely be cheaper and faster. he did good work. granted,  i had an easy problem for him. but then again, it was a problem apple wouldn't/couldn't fix.

thank you, guy at the fix it stand!
